Trevor Linden has a twitter account. He tweets about various things including the books he reads, his cross country ski races as well as updates on his new gym he has started, "Club 16". Here our some of his recent tweets:
Trevor Linden was the President of the NHL players association for 8 years (1998-2006). He was responsible for being the contact between his teammates and the NHLPA. He was also actively involved in negotiations with Gary Bettman to try and save the 2005-2005 NHL lock out. Trevor Linden is a class act and is loved by his fans across the country. After 20 years in the NHL his number "16" was retired by the Vancouver Canucks in 2008.
Trevor Linden is also a competitive cyclist, participating in various races. The biggest one being the Trans Alp bike race, a 600 km race across the European Alps in the summer of 2007. Linden and racing teammate John Ramsden finished 48th out of the 122 competing two-man teams over the eight-day competition. He is also intrested in cross country skiing and real estate.
However, Trevor Linden is most commonly known for his charitable work. Working mostly with children, he has made many appearances at the BC Children's Hospital and Canuck Place, a hospice for terminally ill children. He also has a foundation called the "Trevor Linden Foundation" to raise money for local charities and he also hosts an annual golf tournament as a fundraiser for BC Children's Hospital. He has received many awards for his work off the ice including the Order of British Columbia.
Trevor Linden is very involved in the community. He has recently started a gym called "Club 16" which is located in coquitlam B.C. It opens on Febuary 9th 2011. Here is what Trevor Linden had to say about his new gym in a press release:
“Many things in life are expensive but I don’t think someone’s health and fitness should be,” Linden said in a press release. “We’re creating a fitness club for everyone, where memberships will be more accessible and affordable than anywhere else and with first-class equipment that people will be excited to use. Coquitlam is a growing, active community and we want our members from the area to feel proud, comfortable and inspired when they are exercising, regardless of their fitness level or experience.”

Trevor Linden started his proffessional hockey career off when he played the final 5 games of the 1985-86 regular season with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League. He played the next 2 full seasons winning the Memorial Cup back to back. He was then drafted into the NHL in 1988 by The Vancouver Canucks, second overall behind Mike Madano. He played for Four different teams in the NHL, The Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders, Montreal Canadiens and the Washington Capitals. He appeared in two NHL All-Star games and was also apart of The 1998 Canadian Olympic Team and participated in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey. His international involvments also include the World Junior Championship in 1988. In 1998 Trevor Linden was eleceted president of the NHL players association and held that position for 8 years. Trevor has also won many awards and in total he has played 19 years in the NHL, 1426 games including the playoffs. His statistics and awards over the years looked like this:
